Sevcon profits up 75%

Sevcon, the producer of control systems and now battery chargers for aerial lifts and fork trucks, has reported full year revenues up by nine percent to $34.6 million.

Sales in the year would have been up 11 percent had it not been for negative currency fluctuations which wiped over $500,000 from its revenues

Net Income for the period which ended September 30th, was $1.1million compared to $641,000 in fiscal 2005, an increase of almost 75 percent.

The company put the improvement down to the increasing demand for aerial lifts.
