The company was established in 1975 by Earle and Dorothy Runnion to sell and service truck mounted cranes, and in particular Booms trucks, starting with National Crane. In fact it had purchased the second National crane that the manufacturer ever produced back in 1963. That unit is still operational and now on display at Runions’ new facility.

While National remains Runnion’s leading brand the company also offers cranes and platforms from Palfinger, Manitex, Elliot and Dur a Lift, covering Northern Illinois, Northwest Indiana and Southern Wisconsin. I addition to the new facility in Hodgkins, Runnion has a branch in Caledonia, Wisconsin.

Chief executive Pat Runnion said: “We were so flush with business at our old facility in Lyons that often times we couldn’t handle all the requests. We made this move to the larger facility so that we could have more service bays to best serve our customers, and so our employees could have the best working conditions possible. We are excited to finally be here.”

“This move helps position us for long term growth because we are able to service more equipment and have more machines on hand to rent and sell. This facility is top of the line, and we built it with our customers and employees in mind. We wouldn’t be here today without all their hard work and dedication.”
