Microcranes adds wireless remote

US manufacturer Microcranes has added a wireless remote control option for its 900kg, seven metre lift height M1 Global Model lightweight mini pick & carry crane.

The Rigmaster remote comes from US company Winches, and controls the M1 from a distance of up to 15 metres via an FM based signal at 915 MHz. The controller is fully waterproofed and can float on water, while the transmitter and receiver are also IP67 rated for protection against dust and humidity. Its operating temperature range is -20°C to +50°C .

The new remote control

The company says that evidence increasingly shows that using remote controls to maintain a safe distance from the machine reduces serious accidents, while adding to efficiency due to the operator having a better view of the load, allowing more lifts to be carried out within a given space of time.

Microcranes M1 Global mini crane

The M1 Model crane, fits through doorways and is modular allowing it to travel up to the roof in standard elevators. It is most often used for glazing, roofing, HVAC, and industrial maintenance. Made in the USA it is CE and ISO certified. And is OSHA, ASME, PALD, ANZI, CSA compliant.
