Brad Boehler leaves Linamar

In a call with Vertikal.net yesterday, ex Skyjack president Brad Boehler has confirmed that he will not be taking up the alternative position offered him within the Linamar group, and as a result was leaving the business.

He would not discuss what the other Linamar ‘opportunity’ was, but having weighed up his options he decided to look for something elsewhere. The move follows his removal as president of Skyjack last week See New president for Skyjack. He said that he hopes to serve out his two year term as president of IPAF, given that he remains on the board of Serious Labs, which is an IPAF member. His term has roughly 18 months to run.

Brad Boehler

Boehler was appointed interim president of Skyjack in 2011, having previously been vice president of engineering, having added the role of vice president sales and marketing to his duties a few months earlier. He was confirmed as president in 2012. He joined the company as product safety manager in mid 2003 from logging equipment manufacturer Tigercat, before taking over the engineering role.

He said that he is hoping he might be able to find a new role within the powered access or associated industries. He is based in Canada but says that he would consider moving for the right challenge.

He also stated that his departure from Skyjack/Linamar has been relatively amicable and that he has been cooperating fully and willingly with the transition.

A statement from Skyjack /Linamar said: "After some consideration Brad Boehler has decided not pursue the opportunities offered within Linamar and will instead pursue other personal directions outside of the company."

"Brad was integral to the growth of Skyjack in terms of products, product offerings and market share growth. All at Skyjack respect Brad for his years of service, dedication and leadership. Collectively, we wish him well and are sure he will be successful in his future endeavours."

Speaking with Skyjack staff at a number of meetings and exhibitions over the past 10 days has revealed that they were all shocked by the announcement and very sad to see him go. But many of the longer serving managers and staff also stated that they were at least happy with his replacement, Ken McDougall, who is widely respected from his previous time at Skyjack.

In a surprise move at the start of October the directors of IPAF asked Boehler to step down, on the basis of a previously waived clause in the Federation's rules regarding the requirement for a president to be employed by a full member. See New president for IPAF
