JLG road rail boom lift
Swedish maintenance company TSS Train Station Service has taken delivery of its third 45ft JLG M450AJ hybrid road rail boom lift.
The boom has been modified by Swedish sales and rental company Brubakken in partnership with French rail track systems manufacturer Pandrol, which produces the road rail running gear, which and uses its patented EQ axle which ensures that all boom lift four tyres remain in contact with the rails. The machine can be operated on either diesel or battery electric power.
The modified boom lift offers a maximum outreach of 7.89 metres and an unrestricted platform capacity of 230kg. In order to comply with safety requirements, it has been equipped with additional emergency operation functions and a slew range limiter to ensure that the platform cannot inadvertently intrude into a live track space when working on a double track. It will be used for maintenance on both the Swedish railways and the Stockholm Metro lines.
