Instant buys Active scaffolds

Instant Access Holdings of Australia has acquired Active Scaffolds, a Queensland based scaffold and powered access rental business.

Active was established in the mid-1990s and has operations in Bundaberg and Hervey Bay. It offers both steel façade and alloy tower scaffolding along with aerial lifts, edge Protection and temporary fencing.

John Lucano chief executive of Instant said “This acquisition will provide Instant with a significant market position in the fast growing Queensland market, and will serve as a strong platform from which to further expand in that area, this will include a broadening of Active’s product range”.

Instant Access which has a similar product range to Active, was the subject of a management buyout led by RMB Capital Partners from the Griffin group, owners of UpRight alloy towers in 2005.

The company says that the acquisition of Active is in line with its growth strategy to acquire leading regional scaffold and access equipment hire businesses. The deal was completed at the end of 2006.
