Harnesses saved the lives of these two workers
The two men - working about five storeys up on the side of the eight storey Harbour Beach Resort - were left dangling for about half an hour when the cable system of the platform collapsed on one side leaving the platform in a vertical position.
Rescuers were able to hoist the workers up to the windows above and pull them into the building through an open window. They were inside within 25 minutes of the call for help. One of the men suffered a broken leg and the other had a bloody nose and cuts on the top of his head. Still, far better than certain death.
