More AC220s for Baran

Polish crane rental company Baran has ordered the first two 220 tonne Demag AC220-5 All Terrain cranes to feature EU Stage V compliant engines.

The new engines have more power than the ones they replace and are equipped with the latest Diesel Particulate Filters with the power units matched to the latest ZF TraXon transmission. Scheduled to arrive at the beginning of next year, the five axle AC 220-5 features an eight section 78 metre main boom, plus an 11.4 to 21 metre bi-fold swingaway extension for a 99 metre maximum tip height.

Company owner Robert Baran said: “We are one of the biggest crane companies in Poland, and as a result, we specialise in power plant construction projects, wind turbine erection projects, as well as infrastructure and bridge construction projects. That means that the Demag AC 220-5 cranes’ long main boom and compact design make them simply unbeatable as far as we are concerned.”
