Deutz acquires Benelux dealer
German engine manufacturer Deutz has acquired DPS Power Group, its distributor in Belgium and the Netherlands
With locations in Dordrecht and Antwerp, DPS Power group has been a long term sales and service partner for Deutz throughout the Netherlands and Belgium. As well as offering water and air-cooled diesel and gas engines, power packs and generator sets, the company also provides aftersales support and parts. Following the acquisition the companies will now trade as Deutz Belgium and Deutz Netherlands.
Michael Wellenzohn, Deutz sales, marketing and service director, said: “The acquisition of DPS Power means that our western European customers will now have even more Deutz expertise close to hand. This ensures high-quality application engineering, maintenance, and repair of our drive systems, and enables us to step up our local customer service activities.”

Vertikal Comment
This acquisition follows the recent announcement by Hatz that it was changing its Belgian/Luxembourg distribution from a dealer to direct sales
see Hatz to go direct in Belgium. It would seem that a change may be occurring in Benelux engine distribution - at least among the German manufacturers?
