Liebherr Werk Ehingen was established in 1969 to build the company’s mobile and crawler cranes. Until that time Liebherr’s limited range had been built along with its tower cranes in Bieberach.

The idea of the Ehingen facility was not just to add capacity to cope with the growth of the company’s mobile product range, but also to become the groups worldwide “competence centre” for mobile cranes.

In the 37 years since the plant was established Liebherr has grown to the point where the company is now the leading producer of All Terrain cranes achieving a 45 percent share of the worlds AT market in the first half of 2006, producing 673 cranes.
