Genie to unveil new 60ft boom
Genie will unveil a new 60ft telescopic boom lift - the global specification S-60 J - at the ARA show in Orlando later today.
The new platform features a similar rising linkage as the current S-65XC, S-80 XC and S-85 XC, with a two section boom (the S-65XC has a three section boom) and 1.8 metre articulated jib, and an unrestricted platform capacity of 300kg, offering an 20.5 metre working height and 12.3 metres of outreach. Total transport weight is just 7,550kg compared to the heavier duty S-65XC which weighs in at 11,400kg. Ground clearance on the new machine is a decent 564mm, while overall width is 2.49 metres.

Power comes from a 24hp Kubota Tier 4F/Stage V compliant diesel, driving all four wheels, with Genie’s active oscillating axles and rough-terrain, foam filled tyres. The Genie Lift Guard Contact Alarm and Connect telematics system also comes as standard.
A digital LCD screen at the ground controls provides real time data and troubleshooting while the machine is fully compatible with the Genie Tech Pro Link handheld diagnostics tool. The machine meets global standards, allowing a single model to be quickly and easily adapted for sale in North America, Europe and Australia.

The new S-60 J is intended for slightly lighter duty construction...
Product manager Sean Larin said: “This new addition to the Genie boom line offers rental companies the opportunity to increase their rental return on invested capital by mixing their fleets with a variety of Genie booms, matching the right boom to the right application. Within a rental fleet, the Genie S-60 J model complements the popular heavy lifting Genie S-65 XC model, which is well suited for heavy trades work, such as commercial construction, structural, electrical and plumbing, as well as specialty applications.”
