New MD for Böcker UK

German aluminium crane, hoist and platform manufacturer Böcker has appointed Jake McCaugherty as the new managing director of Böcker UK.

He will be fully responsible for the UK operation, which was established in 2017 (see: Böcker to go direct in UK), but officially opened in June 2018, see: Bocker UK opening.

McCaugherty joins the company from Liebherr where he has been responsible for the tower crane business in the UK and Ireland since 2015. Prior to which he was UK regional sales manager for Danish loader crane manufacturer HMF have joined the company in 2006.

He has plans to expand and develop the business in the UK and Ireland and said: "I am extremely pleased to join Böcker, they have an excellent reputation for high quality products made in Germany and recognise the importance of having outstanding customer service. Over the next couple of weeks, I look forward to meeting our customers, some of which I know well from my previous role.”

Executive director Alexander Böcker added: “The Böcker UK subsidiary was started just over two years ago and there is a clear commitment and support from us for Jake to continue the development of our business in the UK and Ireland. We are already looking forward to welcoming new customers in the future.”

Böcker had previously added to its customer support with the appointment of service engineer, Paul Cartner, who joined the business from Hiab.
