New head for Tadano & Demag UK

Tadano has appointed Alexander ‘Alec’ Bell to the new role of business leader for Tadano and Demag operations in the UK and Ireland.

The new position brings the two businesses under a single manager, who has been charged with managing the integration efforts in both countries, with a focus on exploiting possible synergies between Tadano UK and Demag UK, and the opportunities presented by a wider product range and a stronger single source.

He joins the company from Volvo Truck & Bus dealer, Irish Commercials, where he has been general manager since returning from the Middle East and Asia in 2017. He was previously regional general manager for Al-Futtaim in Saudi Arabia, which distributes Volvo Trucks as well as Everdigm construction equipment.

He began his career in 1986 as a technician with ZF transmissions in the UK, moving to Hong Kong in 1992 to join Volvo Truck and Bus as a sales role, and then manager of bus marketing and spare parts. 10 years later he transferred to China as sales and marketing director, moving to the Dubai in 2006 as regional manager for the Middle East. In 2009 he transferred to Singapore as area director for South East Asia, leaving Volvo for Al-Futtaim after 22 years with the company.
