Second LTM 1090 for Schwientek

German crane rental and recovery company Schwientek & Sohn has taken delivery of a second 90 tonne Liebherr LTM 1090-4.2 All Terrain crane after purchasing its first in 2018.

The four axle LTM 1090-4.2 has a 60 metre main boom, plus a 9.5 to 16 metre bi-fold swingaway extension for a maximum tip height of just under 80 metres. Replacing a similar sized All Terrain in the company’s fleet, the crane can travel on 10 or 12 tonne axle loads and features Liebherr’s VarioBallast counterweight and VarioBase outrigger setup systems.

Owner Jörg Schwientek, said: “The new Liebherr crane is our second LTM 1090-4.2. The crane can also be used with much greater flexibility and is also more manoeuvrable on constricted sites and in towns. It will also be used for truck recovery work, as, in addition to our mobile crane hire business, we also have a towing and special recovery service for vehicles of all types.”
