US rental company Able equipment has opened a new location in West Chester, Pennsylvania- 35 miles due west of Philadelphia. The new branch will absorb the existing locations in Norristown on the North side of Philadelphia and nearby Honey Brook.

The West Chester facility has 3,750 square metres of workshops and offices on a three acre site previously occupied by drilling rig manufacturer Schramm.

The company said: The new site is strategically positioned to service both existing and new customers throughout the greater Delaware Valley region and is accessible to several major roads and highways including Route 202 and Route 3.
Chief operating officer Chris Pera said: "We researched and toured several properties in the area before committing to the facility. From a business point of view, it makes perfect sense for ABLE to operate out of West Chester, because of its strategic location to the Philadelphia and Wilmington, Delaware markets. The physical building itself is an ideal fit for the type of business we are in."

Privately owned Able was established in 1996 and is based in Deer Park, New York and operates from five locations, offering sales, rentals, product support, transportation and training for a wide range of equipment including aerial work platforms, cranes and telehandlers.
