UK’s first electric Hoeflon C6

UK lifting and access rental company Trust In Safe Hands has taken delivery of the first fully electric three tonne Hoeflon C6e spider crane in the UK from distributor Foster Cranes.

Offering similar capabilities as the diesel powered C6, the C6e features a five section 11.5 metre main boom and a 4.3 metre hydraulic luffing jib to offer a maximum tip height of 17 metres.

Powered by lithium phosphate battery pack, which the company claims is superior to lithium-ion in terms of lifespan and lack of degradation over time, the crane can run at 60 percent utilisation for up to eight hours before requiring a re-charge. It can also operate while plugged into a 110/240v mains power point to top up the battery pack while in use.
