‘Crane brothers’ for Cranecorp

Australian crane rental company Cranecorp has taken delivery of a 160 tonne Demag AC 160-5 and 220 tonne Tadano ATF 220G-5 All Terrain crane.

The five axle AC 160-5 features a 68 metre main boom plus a 33 metre bi-fold swingaway extension, and is mounted on a 2.75 metre wide carrier with an overall length of 14 metres. The ATF 220G-5 also has a 68 metre seven section main boom with hydraulic luffing swingaway extension and an integrated 5.8 metre heavy lift extension.

The AC 160-5 will be based in the Goldfields region of Australia while the ATF 220G-5 will operate in the Pilibara region. Both cranes will be used on mine expansion projects throughout Western Australian.

Cranecorp taking delivery of its Demag and Tadano 'crane brothers'

Cranecorp chief executive, Rod White, said: “They are both proven and reliable cranes, they are price competitive and they were available and ready to go, so there were no delays with getting them on the road. Both cranes will be highly utilised for larger projects and will reduce the amount of cross hire cranes we need to bring in. They will increase the efficiency of our entire fleet and also eliminate the need for several older cranes.”

Established in 1994, Cranecorp is based in Henderson with six additional deports across Western Australia. The company’s fleet consists of All Terrain, Rough Terrain and Pick & Carry cranes ranging from 15 to 400 tonnes.
