500 tonner arrives in Réunion

Réunion crane rental and transportation company Société Réunionnaise de Transports Incana has taken delivery of a 500 tonne Demag AC 500-8 All Terrain crane.

The eight axle AC 500-8 features a 56 metre main boom and when combined with its 90 metre luffing jib offers a maximum tip height of 146 metres. Supplied with the Superlift system, the new crane will be used for erecting wind turbines as well as a number of large infrastructure projects including working on the La nouvelle route du littoral coast highway, the biggest roadbuilding project in Réunion.

As well as topping Incana’s 20 crane fleet, the AC 500 is now also the largest crane on Réunion island, an overseas department of France in the Indian ocean. It follows the delivery of a 60 tonne Demag ATF 60G-3 and a 70 tonne Demag ATF 70G-4 which arrived late last year.

Jean-Marie Grossmann, business leader of Tadano/Demag France, said: “I have known Incana’s owner Thierry Incana for about 20 years now and really value his amiable way of interacting with people and doing things. And I know that the decision to purchase the AC 500-8 was not only a sound business decision stemming from the well planned growth of Incana, but also a result of a relationship marked by complete trust.”

Established in 1985 by Thierry Incana, the company has a fleet of more than 200 delivery vehicles plus 20 mobile cranes with lifting capacities from 35 to 500 tonnes.
