First Stage V Genie S-65 XC for Zeppelin

Germany’s Zeppelin Rental has taken the first 65ft Genie S-65 XC straight telescopic boom lifts with Stage V diesel engines to arrive in the country.

The S-65 XC offers a working height of 21.7 metres, a maximum outreach of 16.5 metres with 300kg, while maximum platform capacity of 454kg is available at an outreach of up to almost 15 metres. Although the deadline for new machines to comply with Stage V emissions standards has been postponed to next year, companies like Zeppelin are focusing their purchasing strategies on transforming their fleets now with more environmentally friendly equipment. The new Deutz turbocharged engines are equipped with Diesel Particulate Filters and Genie’s automatic Smart active regeneration, which provides a four stage alert for users before the filter reaches a critical stage.

Zeppelin’s head of central purchasing, Dirk Feyerabend, said: "The Zeppelin group is pursuing its goal of being CO2-neutral by 2030. Climate and environmental protection and responsible action play an important role for us. Consequently, sustainability and the conservation of resources naturally affect the way we invest in our rental fleet. For example, regarding high performance aerial work platforms for heavy outdoor use, we are increasingly supplying new equipment with efficient hybrid technology, as well as machines that are powered by diesel engines with the lowest emissions levels possible like these Genie S-65 XC boom lifts, available under the Zeppelin model number ZT22.16D for our customers."

"Notably, for heavy outdoor applications, we still find that the demand for platforms with a powerful diesel engines continues to be high. However, we are receiving increasingly more requests for machines and equipment that generate the lowest emissions levels possible. Particularly on large construction sites and in urban areas, contractors often have environmental specifications that are a prerequisite for placing an order. Demand for greener solutions with low emissions technology is an increasing trend among our customers.”
