Kuiphuis acquires Pol

Dutch crane rental company Kuiphuis Kraanverhuur has acquired Hoogeveen based Pol Kraanbedrijf from parent company Jos Blom Kraanverhuur and owners Jos, Marco and Richard Blom.

The acquisition includes all the cranes, while we understand all of the Pol operators will also transfer. The move provides Kuiphuis with the new location in Hoogeveen in north east Netherlands, and takes its network from five to six locations. The transaction is expected to complete on the 27th July. No financial details have been released. Kuiphuis claims to have tripled its revenues last year and expect this takeover to accelerate that growth further.

Kuiphuis owner and director Bob Bruijsten said: “Scale is very important in our industry and we consciously choose to work from multiple locations. The closer to the customer, the better we can keep prices by saving travel time and costs. Pol Kraanbedrijf has good operators and a good customer base, so we can move forward with that. We also listened carefully to the current customers. They wanted a total supplier and we can now offer them that certainty."

Marco and Richard Blom added: “We have made the strategic choice to further concentrate on our offices in the west of the Netherlands. Kuiphuis wants to keep the location in Hoogeveen and can make good use of our drivers. They are now getting far more opportunities than we could have offered them in the long term. ”
