UK’s first new Naganos

UK access rental company JMS has taken delivery of the first two Nagano crawler mounted boom lifts to arrive in the UK for some time.

The two models are the 43ft Nagano S15Auj telescopic boom and 60ft 20ATuj articulated boom lift. The S15Auj has a three section telescopic boom and end mounted platform, to providing a 15 metre working height, up to 10.3 metres of outreach and maximum unrestricted platform capacity of 250kg. Powered by a Kubota Stage V diesel it has an overall weight of 8,420kg, an overall width of 2.25 metres, can operate on slopes of up to five degrees and offers 360 degree continuous slew.

Two Nagano S15AUJ at work


The 20ATuj features a dual sigma type riser, topped by a three section telescopic boom and articulating jib. It offers a working height of 20 metres and 8.5 metres of working outreach at an up & over height of 10 metres with maximum platform capacity of 230kg. The maximum outreach remains perfectly constant from a working height of four metres up to 12 metres. Powered by the same Kubota as the S15Auj it weighs 9,450kg.

The Nagano 20AUJ


The platforms a number of safety features, including a travel stop controller, travel speed controller and rapid descent prevention valve. The move follows an increase in the number of customers it has that are working on unprepared greenfield construction sites.

JMS managing director Mark Jackson said: "Our Nagano crawler booms give our customers new options for working at height across rough and unstable terrain. They augment the capabilities of our wheeled Rough Terrain boom lifts and tracked spider platforms, so we are expecting them to be very popular with clients."
