Further Gottwalds for Goeyvaerts

Belgian port equipment and harbour crane rental company Goeyvaerts has ordered a further four Konecranes Gottwald mobile harbour cranes taking the total number in its fleet to more than 24.

The order consists of a 125 tonne Model 6 GHMK 6507 and three 150 tonne Model 7 G HMK 7608 B mobile harbour cranes. The Model 6 will be used to handle both break bulk and containers, while the four grab Model 7 cranes will be used for continuous duty bulk handling on super-post Panamax container ships and capsize bulkers. All four cranes - which join two Models 7 cranes purchased earlier this year - have been supplied with an AC electrical power unit which can connect to the harbour’s mains power supply when required.

Goeyvaerts co-owner Kevin Goeyvaerts, said: “These new cranes are the right investment for the growing rental market. Konecranes has always provided quality equipment ideal for renting: strong and reliable, eco-efficient and easy to adjust for different customer needs. We’re happy to choose them again.”

Goeyvaerts has a fleet of 24 Konecranes mobile harbour cranes in its fleet

Alexandros Stogianidis, Konecranes Port Solutions sales director for Benelux, added: “The addition of these four new cranes brings the Goeyvaerts’ Konecranes Gottwald fleet to a total of 24, giving their customers an even wider range of options to handle all kinds of different cargo. Our long-term partnership clearly demonstrates Goeyvaerts’ trust in us to help their business continue to grow and succeed in the future.”

Founded in 1953, Goeyvaerts began with a fleet of barge cranes for handling work on inland waterways. In 2006, it expanded its offering to offer Gottwald, Sennebogen and Mantsinen cranes as well as a range of harbour tractors, trailers, skid skirts and wheel loaders throughout seven ports throughout Benelux area.
