The work that won the prize for Blomberg as detailed by the award committee as follows:

"Production control of complex flows with many variants in low volumes is achallenge. Tomas Blomberg has worked in a targeted and structured manner to make the right information available for production personnel at the right time. Personnel can simply and clearly see what is to be produced and when. This has made
production predictable and, consequently, easy to control. Lead-times have been shortened considerably, which has resulted in increased delivery reliability.

At thesame time, a platform for reduction of inventories and goods in progress has been created. Through systematic and defined goals, Tomas Blomberg has carried out development work in an area of major importance for many Swedish companies. His work sets an example for Swedish industry".
