German crane rental company Rothmund Kran & Montage has taken delivery of a second 230 tonne Liebherr LTM 1230-5.1 All Terrain crane in six months along with a 50 tonne Liebherr LTM 1050-3.1.
The five axle LTM 1230-5.1 features an eight section 75 metre main boom and an 11.5 to 20 metre bi-fold swingaway extension that can offset by up to 40 degrees. Up to three seven metre inserts can be added between the boom nose and swingaway for a tip height of 113 metres.
The three axle LTC 1050-3.1 features a four section 38 metre main boom plus a nine to 16 metre bi-fold swingaway extension. It is equipped with full remote controls, a Stage V diesel engine and Liebherr’s VarioBase outrigger system.
Managing director Heiko Brückner, said: "We decided to buy a second LTM 1230-5.1 because we think that this crane’s concept is just right. We can use it for a very wide range of jobs with its VarioBase variable support base and the different ballast versions. Its high lifting capacities and very long 75 metre telescopic boom are ideal for assembling construction cranes.”
Established 40 years ago, Rothmund is based in Pforzheim, south west Germany. It offers a fleet of more than 20 mobile cranes with lifting capacities up to 350 tonnes as well as loader cranes. It also offers forklifts and has a fleet of delivery and haulage vehicles.
