Managing director Ian Duckitt, said: “We were looking to match the payload potential of our outgoing 26 tonne trucks yet the new Mercedes-Benz Arocs offer an extra tonne of carrying capacity. I don’t know how much of that weight saving is down to the chassis, how much to the body and how much to the crane, but in truth I’m not bothered. All that matters to me is that these vehicles offer an increase in carrying capacity of a magnitude that’s already making a big difference in terms of productivity and cost control.”
