Near miss in Melbourne

A crane overturned onto an occupied home in the Yarraville suburb of Melbourne, Australia, yesterday while installing a prefabricated home next door.
The crane, a 100 tonne four axle Demag All Terrain, owned and operated by Tarrant Crane Hire, was installing a modular home, and had lifted the second module into place and was in the process of rotating it into position on the concrete pad. As the manoeuvre progressed the load radius must have shifted, causing an overload? The boom came down on the house next door where a family was watching television. The collapsing wall and roof narrowly missed them.

The crane operator and rigger were treated on site for minor issues, while two cranes were due to come in and recover it.
