Genie appoints new president

Terex has appointed Simon Meester as president of Genie. Based at Genie's headquarters in Redmond, Washington, he will report to Terex chief executive John Garrison and also join the company's executive leadership team.

Meester joined Genie in 2018 as vice president of global sales and marketing and he has been chief operating officer since June last year. He joined the company from Eaton’s Industrial Control division and also worked for Caterpillar and Sandvik. He will continue to be based at Genie's headquarters in Redmond, Washington.

Garrison said: "Simon's leadership has kept Genie team members safe during the pandemic, while leading key strategic initiatives to deliver quality and value for our customers. He is a proven leader with a deep understanding of the business, our customers' needs, and how to drive growth. I am confident that he is the right person to lead Genie forward."
