Liebherr has delivered its 2,000th 34 K self-erecting tower crane since the product line first appeared in 1998.
The milestone machine was sold to Swiss contractor and transport company Mathis Bau which runs a small fleet of Liebherr cranes including five other Liebherr K cranes.
The crane has a maximum capacity of four tonnes up to a 10 metres radius, a hook height with horizontal jib of up to 26 metres and a maximum radius of 33 metres at which it can handle 1,100kg. With the jib luffed, hook heights of up to 41 metres are possible.
Company owner Daniel Mathis collected his new crane personally from the Liebherr facility in Reiden, Switzerland. Speaking at the handover he said: “I need machines that I can trust and that’s why I opt for Liebherr, it's a quality brand that allows me to offer my customers a first class service.”
Mathis Bau typically undertakes work on sites in difficult to reach mountainous areas, the new crane went straight to work lifting stair elements weighing almost four tonnes for a building extension in the Swiss municipality of Giswil, in the canton of Obwalden.
