UK virtual rental company WowNow Hire – formerly Nationwide Hire – has appointed Anthony Pearlgood as chief executive.
Established in 1995 and rebranded as WowNow Hire in April, the company claims to work with 4,000 suppliers to offer more than five million pieces of equipment - ranging from powered access, construction equipment and tools, to temporary accommodation and waste disposal - from 9,000 locations throughout the UK and Ireland.
Pearlgood joins the company from Restore Datashred, where he has been managing director for the past three years. He began his career in 2001 after setting up shredding, waste and recycling business Confidential Destruction Services (CDS), which he sold to the PHS group in 2006. He remained with PHS for 12 years as director before becoming managing director of PHS Data Solutions in 2013, leaving for Restore in 2016.
WowNow Hire's chairman Martin Smith said: “We’re delighted to welcome Anthony. His strong customer service ethic and wealth of experience with rapid growth businesses made him the perfect choice to lead WowNow Hire during the next phase of our development."
Pearlgood added: "I‘m delighted to be joining WowNow Hire at this juncture - a time of change and momentum within the business. The company has a very well-invested foundation from which to build an even more compelling customer proposition and accelerate its UK and Ireland growth.”
Talking of the company’s decision to rebrand, former chief executive Jonathan Holley, said: “Changing our name to WowNow Hire make perfect sense. We still cover the entire United Kingdom and the new name amplifies what we are all about, our WowNow DNA. At the heart of our business we’re dedicated to delivering the best customer service, the WOW, as easily and quickly as possible, the NOW.”
