First Bronto S47XR in Oz

Australian rental company JM Tower Hire has taken delivery of the first 47 metre Bronto Skylift S47XR truck mounted lift in the country.

The S47XR features a four section main boom plus a long two section top boom and short jib providing a maximum outreach of 32 metres with 120kg in the platform, or 28 metres with 360kg and 25.5 metres. It offers a maximum platform capacity of 600g. For those spotting that this unit has more outreach with the three platform capacities, this is due to the heavier chassis permitted by Australian road regulations. The JM Tower lift is mounted on a new generation Scania P410 6x4 chassis.

JM Tower’s new Bronto S 47XR

The new machine joins a Bronto S46XDT and S61XDT along with some smaller Cela units, including a 28 metre DT28, in the fleet. It was sold and delivered by Adelaide based Bronto Skylift Australia/New Zealand, which says that it also has orders for the 56 metre Bronto S56XR and 70 metre S70XR truck mounts in the ‘pipeline’. The new machine went straight out on a job.

One of the advantages of the road regulations in Australia - a heavier chassis gives greater outreach.
This particular unit has a max horizontal outreach of 32m when set to 120kg or 28m reach on 360kg.
