Three years ago, general manager Pascal Meynard instigated a full sales training programme to help Access Industrie’s customer facing staff promote the benefits of hybrid the machines to prospective customers. As Meynard said at the time: "The market is sensitive to these new developments in terms of ecology. It is up to us to educate the market by providing information and promoting the product, in collaboration with Genie."
The units are likely to find favour in the larger metropolitan areas such as Paris, which has an increasing number of construction sites where ‘green energy’ is a mandatory requirement. The concept also saves on fuel costs with a tank of fuel usually lasting more than a week, thanks to the fully charged battery pack being sufficient for a full day's work in electric mode.
Founded by Daniel Duclos around 25 years ago, Acces Industrie operates from 40 locations in France with 500 employees and a fleet of around 8,000 aerial work platforms and telehandlers. The company was
acquired by Parquest Capital in 2017 and has added a number of bolt on acquisitions since then.
