A tree worker has died after he came into contact with overhead power lines while working from an aerial work platform in Belfast, Northern Ireland on September 30th.
The man, Rodney Shirley, 36, was trimming trees for a local tree care company when he either touched or came too close to an overhead power line. He was rushed to hospital where he lapsed into a coma and died later from his injuries.
He leaves behind a wife and four children, the youngest of which is just 11 weeks old. The police service of Northern Ireland is investigating the incident alongside the Health and Safety Executive.
