Terex has appointed Giancarlo Montanari as business line leader for Rough Terrain cranes.
Based at the company's Rough Terrain manufacturing facility in Crespellano, Italy, Montanari will be responsible for the distribution strategy and customer support of the company’s Rough Terrain cranes, as well as contributing towards new product development.
He joins the company after more than 20 years with Italian agricultural equipment manufacturer Argo Tractors, where he was European sales manager. He started working with Argo in 2000 as an assembly worker, quickly working his way up to quality control supervisor and service product manager. In 2007 he was appointed regional service manager and promoted five years later to regional export manager, covering 14 countries. After four years in that role, he became European sales manager, with additional responsibility for the Turkish office.
Speaking of his appointment, Montanari said: “I look forward to forging strong relationships with both the internal team as well as our distribution partners and customers. Rough Terrain Cranes is an important product line for Terex, and I am confident that our renewed focus on these well-engineered products, backed up by our strong support team, will reinvigorate our presence in our global markets.”
General manager Marco Gentilini added: “Giancarlo’s appointment is part of our ambitious growth strategy for Terex Cranes, representing a renewed focus on our Rough Terrain cranes product line. He brings a wealth of experience in the global machinery industry, both in developing distribution and creating successful customer support strategies. His experience will be a great asset as he works to drive our Rough Terrain cranes product line forward, which will greatly contribute to our long-term growth and success.”
