300 Genies for BSI

German rental company Baumaschinen Service International (BSI) has ordered 300 new platforms from Genie.

The order was placed at Platformers' Days and includes a selection of Genie Runabout mast type lifts, slab electric 'e-drive' scissor lifts with working heights from six to 16 metres plus diesel and electric Rough Terrain scissors. It also includes Rough Terrain articulated booms, including the 45ft Z-45 FE and 60ft Z-60 FE hybrids, plus a number of telescopics, including, 60ft S-60 J and 80ft S-80 along with some XC models and Trax crawler mounted units. The move follows the delivery of several big Genie booms earlier this year.

Managing director Sven Nielsen said: "Our order basically includes all the innovative new Genie machines exhibited at the Platformers' Days, plus a wide range of Genie machines that score particularly well in terms of productivity with a low total cost of ownership. It was also important for us to combine the FE, and XC with the J-Series, as this broad offering of three complementary model ranges, each tailored to the specific requirements of the job site and fulfils our ambition to maximise rental returns through the right fleet mix."
