Swiss roll over

A truck mounted platform overturned on a motorway approach road in Risch-Rotkreuz, between Lucerne and Zurich, Switzerland, on Thursday 18th November.

The two axle truck mount - possibly a 35 to 45 metre Bronto - was travelling up the curved slip road onto the E41 motorway when it overturned onto its side, coming to rest on a grass verge. The driver, 33, was able to escape the platform unharmed, however blood and urine tests taken suggest he may have been intoxicated at the time.
The recovery of the truck mount went well into the night

A recovery truck and two cranes from the Welti-Furrer fleet were able to place the truck mount back on its wheel later that day with the road reopening later in the evening after around 125 metres of safety barriers were replaced.
