Another Spanish acquisition for Kiloutou

European rental group Kiloutou has acquired Spanish rental company Almaq. The acquisition will add four new locations in Zaragoza, Jaca, Teruel and Alcañiz, in and around the city of Zaragoza.

Established formally in 1983 but tracing its roots back to 1972, , Almaq runs a fleet of around 800 units, with a strong focus on earthmoving equipment. It also runs telehandlers and aerial work platforms, both scissor and boom lifts, and employs 23. The Almaq locations will be merged into Kiloutou’s existing Spanish business which operates from 21 branches with 220 employees. This acquisition follows the acquisition of Diaz-Miquelez in July.

Kiloutou chief executive Olivier Colleau, said: "After Diaz-Miquelez in July, the acquisition of Almaq confirms Kiloutou’s commitment to the Spanish rental market and is fully in line with Kiloutou's development strategy in the country, which aims at strengthening our geographical presence in high potential areas. It illustrates once again our ability to federate quality regional stakeholders with a strong local presence around our development project."

Almaq’s owners said: "We am delighted and proud to announce the acquisition of our earthmoving rental equipment company by Kiloutou. We share mutual expertise and common ambition to continuously improve the services we provide to our customers. The handover will enable our teams to contribute to the growth of the Kiloutou group with our strong knowledge of the market of Zaragoza. I am pleased to see our teams continuing their success while benefiting from new investments, services and resources."

Kiloutou operates a rental fleet of 250,000 items - consisting of utility and earth moving equipment, powered access and tools - from more than 505 locations in France, Poland, Italy, Spain and Germany.
