The first Fassi F1450R-HXP Techno

Fassi has delivered the first two F1450R-HXP Techno heavy lift loader cranes to Kuljetusliike Knuutinen in Finland, arriving just months after the new crane and range was first announced – See: New Techno range from Fassi

The units purchased by Kuljetusliike Knuutinen have a load moment of 119 tonne/metre with the 10 element boom, which includes eight telescopic sections, plus the special L826 jib providing an overall reach of 31.5 metres with 1,465kg capacity. The company also decided to add three manual boom extensions to the boom creating a maximum lifting height and outreach of 37 metres with 330kg capacity at the tip. The decagonal profile boom, dubbed ‘X-Design’, is said to provide increased resistance to flex, higher capacities lower overall weight. The crane is mounted on a five axle (four axle plus rear drop/lift axle) Scania truck chassis.

The new machines have been specified with a work platform, FSC (Fassi Stability Control) Techno and the Extra Power (XP) systems. The F1450R-HXP Techno also adopts the new electronics system introduced on the new FX990 crane, with the ability to process a large amount of data thanks to multiple CAN-BUS and Ethernet lines.

The new crane went straight to work on a site in Kuopio, not far from Kuljetusliike Knuutinen headquarters in Siilinjärvi, central Finland.
Chief executive Jarkko Knuutinen, the third generation of the family to run the company, said: “Practical and easy to use, as well as to put into operation. It goes without saying that I didn’t have to waste any precious time in beginning to use my new Fassi. The automatic ACF opening and closing system is ideal for automating these operations, which usually take up precious minutes, and with regards to positioning, I believe that the FSC Techno system is unrivalled. Even in the tightest of spaces, where stabilisers cannot be fully extended, the crane is still able to operate in safety, providing me with clear indications via the display of the lifting and outreach capacities in accordance with the current state of stabilisation. This function allows me to work without worrying, and to concentrate on the load, because I know that the new Techno electronics will handle the rest."
