Two senior promotions at Maxim

US based crane and aerial lift rental company Maxim Crane Works has promoted Larry Lis to vice president of fleet management and Richard Minter to vice president of pricing and sales operations.

The moves come as Maxim is Crane is due to make significant investments in its crane and support fleet.

Larry Lis


Lis has spent almost his entire career with Maxim, having joined the business in 1998, he was previously vice president of the Midwest region and before that the Northeast.

Chief executive Paul McDonnell said: “Larry’s experience and crane knowledge are critical to our success as we invest in our fleet. Through Larry’s leadership, we’re elevating our used equipment sales and strategically investing in the fleet to ensure we meet customers’ needs in the industries and verticals we serve.”

Speaking of his new role Lis added: “I’m excited by the opportunity to lead the fleet management team at Maxim. With these new investments in our fleet, I believe we are well positioned to continue to meet customers where they are with the right equipment in the right place at the right time.”

Richard Minter is also a Maxim veteran having worked with the company for the past 22 years serving in various roles including vice president of the All Terrain division, vice president strategic development, director of sales & strategic accounts, vice president special projects, and regional controller. He began his career in 1990 as an account manager with Columbus Mills, moving to accounting firm PWC in 1994 as a forensic accountant and insolvency consultant, leaving for Maxim at the end of 1999.

Richard Minter


In his new role he will “leverage people, data, and technology to develop pricing strategies and deliver market intelligence and sales process design to increase sales productivity and drive profitable growth across Maxim’s national branch footprint.” He has also played a major role in 17 Maxim acquisitions in the 22 years.

“Richard’s tenure at Maxim coupled with his expertise in data analytics and process management is an ideal fit for this role,” said McDonnell. “Establishing this team is critical to our go-forward strategy and I am confident that Richard and his team will deliver insights and strategies that will positively impact Maxim Crane’s bottom line.”

Minter added: “I am thrilled to take on this new role at Maxim Crane. We believe that delivering new insights and processes to the organization will enhance the efficiency of our sales team creating long term profitable growth for the company.”
