The Weiland group will now focus on its other operations, which include the substantial mobile crane rental and transport business and Weiland Montageteam which offers rigging, assembly and industrial installation services. The Weiland group was established by Karl Weiland in 1946 and purchased its first crane in 1972 when it set up the crane rental subsidiary.

Schröckenschlager - who now owns 100 percent of the Weiland access business - joined the company in 2001 in order to set up the new aerial lift rental division, and since then has served as Geschäftsführer of the resulting Hebetechnik subsidiary, building it into a successful powered access sales and rental operation with a fleet that includes a wide range of aerial lifts along with telehandlers. The company is also a member of the Partnerlift association of independent regional rental companies.

Weiland Hebetechnik is based in Lampertheim to the south of Frankfurt.
