Emilio Lens

Lens, who is fluent in Spanish, Russian, Portuguese and French, as well as English, joined the company last year following two and half years with materials screening equipment General Kinematics where he was business development director for Europe.

However, he began his career in the material handling industry starting out at Hyster/NACCO in 2001 with responsibility for developing the company’s distributor network across Russia and the CIS states. In 2007 he moved to JCB as regional manager for Northern and Eastern Europe, switching to Terex three years later where he was sales and business development director for emerging markets. After five years in that role, he left for Stork which builds equipment for the oil & gas, chemical and power generation industries, moving to General Kinematics at the end of 2019.

Chief executive Graeme Riley said: “Emilio brings with him a wealth of experience and a proven track record in sales, engineering and of course, his notable foreign language skills. The past couple of years have been interesting times, especially navigating the political landscape with regards to Brexit and the barriers to trade that were brought through lockdown restrictions. Having said that, we’re still moving forward. There are plenty of things happening at Unic and we are delighted to have Emilio on board, with this wealth of knowledge and expertise.”

Lens added: "I am happy to be at Unic Cranes Europe with a great team and a history of being a very successful, family run business. Our strategic objective is to develop the dealer network throughout Europe, with a focus on Eastern Europe. I will be working with the dealer network to maximise the opportunities and impact within their respective territories. Through continuous innovation and working closely with the dealer network and key accounts, I am looking forward to playing a part in taking the Unic brand forward.”
