Sunbelt acquires Lift Works

Sunbelt USA has acquired Chicago region aerial lift and telehandler rental Lift Works.

Lift Works is based in St Charles on the western edge of greater Chicago, with a branch in Rockford. Illinois - further to the west. It was established by owner and chief executive Marty Starck in 2003. Since then, he has built a substantial sales and rental operation, with equipment from Skyjack, Genie, Snorkel, Niftylift, Hy-brid/Custom, MEC, GMG and Magni. The Lift Works employees and management will remain with the company, managing it on a day to day basis.

Speaking of the deal which was concluded in early January, Starck said: “In contemplating this transaction, my goal was to find the best new partner to provide Lift Works with the experience and capital necessary to continue its strong trajectory of growth, while supporting the existing management team and employee base with personal and professional growth opportunities. Sunbelt is the right partner to accomplish this goal, it has been a leading player in the equipment rental market for decades and understands the importance of preserving Lift Works’ culture and customer service. They also bring meaningful resources and equipment rental experience to the table that will help Lift Works better serve its customers going forward.”

“My team and I spent 19 years building this company, and I believe Lift Works’ market position, financial profile, customer base, people and culture deserved a premium valuation in the market. I was very happy with the outcome. We are excited to pursue Lift Works’ next phase of growth with Sunbelt as our partner.”
