Fatal tower crane incident
Six people were killed yesterday in a tower crane incident in Jianyang city, Sichuan province, China.
We have not seen any photos from the scene, but the local authorities said that the crane “collapsed” while carrying out a lift. Five people were seriously injured but are said to be in a stable condition in hospital.
An emergency response centre has been set up and an investigation launched. The crane was working on a highway bridge over the Tuo River. If and when we learn more, we will update this item.
