A boom lift came off the back of a delivery truck in Arnhem, the Netherlands yesterday causing all manner of traffic issues. Thankfully no one was hurt in the incident, but the machine has suffered some significant structural damage.
The incident occurred near the city’s GelreDome stadium, the lift a relatively new Niftylift hybrid belonging to the rental company 1-2-3 Machine Verhuur. We understand that the unit was being transported by a third party BUT have not confirmed if that is the case or not.
The incident highlights the importance of properly securing loads, partcularly equipment such as this which could so easily have ended up with a fatality had it come off onto a passing car, bicycle or pedestrian.
