MEC adds to commercial team

Californian manufacturer MEC Aerial Work Platforms has appointed Robert Cox as regional business development manager.

His main responsibilities in this new role include increasing the number of strategic business partnerships and expanding the company’s activities into new areas that offer opportunities for growth.

He joins the company from wholesale aerial lift and telehandler rental company Acme Lift where he has been a senior sales representative since 2021.

He began his working life in 2009 on the shop floor with door and window manufacturing company Jeld Wen, starting his career proper with a short spell as a sales associate with drinks company Graybeal Distributing, before trying his hand as a teaching assistant. He found his niche however when he joined Genie in 2013 as a territory sales manager, remaining with the company for almost eight years, based for most of that time in Denver, leaving in 2021 for Acme.

Vice president of North American sales Paul Waller said: “Robert brings an incredible foundation for success. His product knowledge, business experience and education will strengthen our continued partnership with our customers as well as developing new relationships and exploring new markets. Robert’s addition to the sales team is one of the many strategic commitments to expanding our business in North America. He understands the value and innovation MEC brings to our customers and the industry overall.”
