UK heavy lifting company Notus Contract Lifting and Dutch floating crane specialist Hebo Maritimeservice have formed a partnership - ‘Notus Hebo'.
The new venture is aimed at providing UK clients with access to Hebo's fleet of floating cranes and barges as an alternative to land based equipment for marine and near shore lifting projects.
The companies say that the UK’s significant pipeline of renewable energy and major infrastructure developments presents a substantial opportunity. The Hebo floating crane fleet includes floating sheerleg cranes with capacities ranging from 50 tonnes to 2, 200 tonnes, along with pontoons, jacking equipment, tugs and barges etc...
Scott Mitchell, managing director of Notus, added: “Hebo’s proven marine capabilities, experience and know-how, combined with Notus’ onshore heavy lift expertise and market presence, create a compelling proposition for clients operating in complex marine and coastal environments. We are already seeing strong client interest and have secured our first contract to deliver integrated heavy lift, engineered transport and marine solutions.”
The 2,200t Hebo Lift 10, can take its maximum load out to 12 metres from the edge of the barge at a height of 42 metres
Hebo chief commercial officer, Rutger Kouwenhoven, said: “I have known Scott and the Notus team for more than a decade and have followed their impressive growth closely. Their deep understanding of the UK market, strong technical capability, and independent position make Notus an ideal partner for Hebo as we further develop our presence in the UK.”
The move comes not long after Notus and Italian heavy lift and haulage company Fagioli entered into an agreement to see Fagioli make a re-entry into the UK market.
