Ainscough recycles

Ainscough Crane Hire has appointed the OSS Group to collect and recycle the hazardous waste from all of its 26 service centres across the UK.

Under the tailored HazTech contract, OSS will collect waste oils, contaminated fuel, used filters, scrap batteries and other engine and plant servicing waste, reusing or recycling the vast majority of it.

Ainscough started using the HazTech service in early 2006 and, according to engineering director, Steve Cooke, “they recovered 96.35 percent of our waste last year”.

"As the first crane hire company in the UK to be awarded the ISO 14001 accreditation, environmental awareness is very important to us." He adds.

The company also benefit from the OSS on-line paperless information system – OSSIS which stores all documentation electronically. Customers have instant access, via a secure website, to information in their own files, such as EA consignee returns, and can download this at any time. Collections can also be requested over the Internet.
