Canada’s first Tadano GT-800XL-2

Canadian company DMD Building Systems has taken delivery of the first 80 ton (72.6 tonne) GT-800XL-2 truck crane in Canada.

The GT-800XL-2 features a five section, 47 metre full power boom and can be equipped with the same 10 metre to 17.9 metre bi-fold swingaway extension. Multiple self-removable counterweight configurations are possible with a maximum counterweight of 8.1 tonnes and offers a maximum road speed of 65mph/105kph.
The hand over

The crane was purchased from Cropac, Tadano’s distributor for Canada, which ordered the crane when it was launched at Conexpo earlier this year along with the 110 tonne/120 ton GT-1200XL-2.

Familiarisation training on the new crane gets underway

The 80 ton rental market is popular throughout Canada. This machine was pre-sold well before its arrival.
