French crane rental and engineering group Foselev has kicked off the year with two new acquisitions, one in the north of France and one in the Savoie.
The most recent, announced yesterday, is Betka which is based in Gilly-sur-Isère, south of Annecy in the Savoie. It offers a wide range lifting solutions, including heavy/long boomed loader cranes, truck mounted aerial work platforms as well as heavy transport, while also designing, fabricating material handling equipment such as heavy accessories for overhead cranes. Another side of the business involves on site industrial maintenance, installation, load testing and training.
A few days earlier the company completed the acquisition of ‘lift, shift and installation’ company STL based in Ruitz, north west of Lens on the back road to Calais. The company, founded in 2011, was part of the STBE group, and runs a rental fleet that includes around 10 All Terrain and city cranes from 25 to 180 tonnes, a couple of 11/12 tonne industrial pick & carry cranes and two mobile self-erecting tower cranes, as well as an aerial lift and heavy transport fleet.
Amazingly it achieves all this with just 20 full time employees. The company serves construction and industrial businesses across the Pas-de-Calais region and northern France. The move expands Foselev’s coverage in the north of France and joins another acquisition the company made late last year - that of SISE in Dunkirk.
SISE or rather, Société Industrielle de Soudure et d’Entretien to give it its full name, operates from a 2,000 square metre facility with welding and fabrication workshops in Dunkirk, much of its work is carried out for the numerous local industries including petrochemical and nuclear power. Its products are mostly custom built to order and include specialist overhead cranes and heavy fork trucks. The move is part of a strategy to increase Foselev’s development in the region. It now plans to upgrade and modernise the SISE facility in Fort Mardyck region of the town.
The family owned company was established in 1979 by Michel Morelli who has handed over the management of the business to Armando Morelli. The company is now part of Foselev’s industrial division.
