A first for Steil Kranarbeiten

German crane rental company Steil Kranarbeiten has taken delivery of the first Maeda MK3053-C spider crane in Germany.

The 2.8 tonne Maeda MK3053-C spider crane features a five section main boom with a three section telescopic jib for a maximum tip height of 16.95 metres at which point it can handle 50kg. It can also take it out to the maximum radius of 14.5 metres.

The units were purchased through its local distributor Kranlyft Germany, sales manager Roland Ritzensteiger said: “The MK3053 has the power reserves known from Maeda, so it does not reach the performance limits as quickly as the products of the competitors. The operation of the machine is as user-friendly as you are used to from the Maeda mini cranes. Even though the machine has many new features on board, it is still easy to use and quickly explained to the end customer.”

Markus Thomas Blum of Steil Kranarbeiten added: “The performance of the machine is excellent and is unparalleled. The variable support, the new jib with winch, the battery power pack, the sensitivity, the simple operation and the automatic functions make the Maeda spider crane MK3053 unbeatable."

"With Maeda and Kranlyft, we have strong partners we can rely on. Not only the usual quality of the machines from Japan meets, but also the advice, the service, the supply of spare parts, along with the personal support from Kranlyft are all factors that help our decision. We also gladly accepted the longer delivery time of the MK3053, because we knew exactly that we would then get - a 100 percent perfected machine rather than an unreliable early production machine which is typical of some manufacturers.”

Steil is based in Trier with four depots across Germany plus one in Luxembourg and runs a fleet of 115 cranes up to 1,000 tonnes, with 300 employees. The group operates throughout Europe in the wind power industry and provides industrial moving, heavy haulage, recovery, and towing, as well as oil spill removal services.
