UK rental company Ainscough has taken delivery of the first seven of a 14 unit All Terrain crane order with Liebherr, part of a £40 million deal.
The package includes seven 230 tonne LTM 1230-5.1s and seven 300 tonne LTM 1300-6.3’s All Terrains replacing numerous five and six axle cranes in a move to modernise the fleet.
The five axle LTM 1230-5.1 is equipped with an eight section 75 metre main boom, and can be topped by an 11.5 to 20 metre bi-fold swingaway extension that offsets by up to 40 degrees. Up to three, seven metre inserts can also be added between the boom nose and swingaway for a maximum tip height of 113 metres with the main boom at 68 metres.
The six axle LTM 1300-6.3 features an eight section, 90 metre main boom topped by an 11.5 to 20 metre bi-fold swingaway extension, to which two seven metre inserts can be added between the boom nose and swingaway for a tip height of 121 metres. Alternatively, a 43 metre lattice extension takes the tip height to 126 metres. Features include VarioBase Plus outrigger set up and monitoring, VarioBallast variable counterweight, Auto-Ballast, and the wind speed related load charts.
Mark James, Ainscough’s operations support director said: “The new cranes Liebherr are manufacturing feature longer booms and reduced counterweight than their predecessors, making them easier to transport and bring unprecedented levels of efficiency to our fleet.”
“We are continuously investing in our fleet to ensure that our customers benefit from the latest equipment and to remain the market leader for lifting services in the UK. This package is just a part of a wider crane investment that currently stands at £40 million for the past few years.”
In addition to this package, the company has taken delivery of another seven cranes this year: a 700 tonne LTM 1650-8.1, four 60 tonne LTM 1060-3.1s and two 50 tonne hybrid LTC 1050-3.1Es. The LTC 1050-3.1E, the first of its kind in the UK, is Liebherr's first mobile crane to operate with zero emissions.
